Ofrenda to George Orwell

Last thursday we made an ofrenda about the author of Animal Farm, George Orwell. We participated in a competition along with other ofrendas from many forms and grades but unfortunately didn't win. We really wanted to win because we put a lot of effort in it as well as our tutor, Ian, and we had a good and original idea. We placed a big paper painted with a dark sky, and with a big tower in the middle, where a big advertising with a face saying "Big brother is watching you" was, that represented one of his books called 1984. We also put an helicopter climbing from the top. In front of the paper, we put a table with many flowers typical in Mexico in October and November, fruits, bread, sugar skulls and a cup with water; there were 4 chairs. In two of the chairs there were 2 guys with pig masks playing cards with a man sitting in a third chair who was the man in the advertising of Big Brother. The fourth chair was supposed to be for George Orwell, but never arrived since he's dead. The pigs represented his book Animal Farm. All the floor was covered with flowers and there were candles. In front of the whole ofrenda there were 4 guards that represented his book 1984 who were looking after Big Brother.
Even though we made a big effort and didn't win, all the other ofrendas were amazing, creative and really beautiful. We congratulate the winner forms!
